New User Approve is a WordPress plugin that allows a blog administrator to approve new users before they are able to access and login to the blog.
The plugin has been available on the WordPress repository for at least a few years. I’d like to take the plugin to the next level. That is why I have created a separate site. Here are some ideas of what I will be adding to the site.
Whether on the WordPress forums or in an email, I often get asked how to do something very specific with the New User Approve plugin. I want to provide more details of the hooks available in the plugin and how to use them so the plugin will do what you want it to do.
This has to be the primary reason that I am creating this site. I’d like to support the users of the New User Approve plugin better. And I think I’ll start with the pesky issue of email not being sent in specific cases.
In order to make this a really good plugin, I think add-ons will need to be developed that customize the registration and login process for WordPress even more. For example, there are a number of plugins that conflict with the New User Approve plugin. Sometimes an add on would make sense to either bridge the gap with the other plugin or to simply provide the missing functionality.
I’ve been fairly consistent in updating the New User Approve plugin. But I know I can do way better in keeping users informed of any issues or new features. I’ll be posting updates to this blog and will be sending out regular updates in a newsletter.
Let me know if there is anything specific you’d like me to address with this site, as long as it has to do with the New User Approve plugin.
